Save The Earth

Artists respond to the climate crisis

Mini Wiconi, acrylic & collage on paper,  24” x 36”, 2017

"Since the 80s the primary focus of my work has been our Mother Earth and the unity of all life on our planet. To me this is the primary issue we face. If we do not successfully address this no other concern will have the ground on which to stand. This quote has been a great inspiration to me:

“Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves”. —Chief Seattle 1854

This piece was created during the struggle against the DAPL pipeline in 2017 in solidarity with The First Nation peoples at Standing Rock. Mni Wiconi means Water is Life in Lakota."

Atomic Pachamama: Outer Core, acrylic & collage on wood panel, 14” x 14”, 2015

"To me the primary issue we face is the protection of our Mother Earth and the interconnectedness of all Earth’s species. If we do not successfully sustain this planet and all of its species in the web of life no other concern will matter.

This piece is one in a series of four interconnected paintings addressing the red hot damage humans are doing to the earth that have produced climate change and extinction of species"
