"On a dreary winter day, when I had been feeling unwell, a friend brought a large bunch of the most vibrant red tulips. What a presence they were in the room. In the next few days, as they opened, I took dozens of photographs. Collage scraps & drawing, picking up on the various overlapping curls & turns of the petals were added after the photos were arranged. A reminder of the intrinsic soothing qualities of flora & the caring of a dear friend."
