"I have travelled twice to Greenland in recent years to bear witness to the icescapes that are vanishing rapidly due to climate change. It was an extraordinary and moving experience that I have been chasing in my studio ever since.
Night Shadows II is one of a series of works from my Requiem collection. Most of these large, elegiac works are rendered in watercolor because of the mobility of the medium, and the connection with water and the ice.
The series recalls a particular moment at night among the icebergs before darkness falls completely, when the wind stops and all is silent."
