"As our planet turns warmer and more polluted I touch on issues concerning nature. In my travels throughout the Caribbean, I draw and take photographs of the natural world. From these references I create mixed media paintings in my studio that recall the environments I visit. I work with acrylic, collage, charcoal, and crayon. I explore abstraction and representation and focus on the point of balance where the two worlds meet. The picture contains a representative image but leaves it on the cusp of perception."
