"Breakthrough I and II … pastel collage ….symbolize the strange, but ominous beauty of polluted skies with a cutout through to the natural blue sky and pure white clouds that lie just beneath the surface.  During COVID, we were treated to cleaner air, oceans, skies, sounds of birds in greener trees, dolphins, seals, baby sharks and whales on our Long Island beaches and less noise pollution making us more aware of the sounds of nature.  Maybe COVID gave us the chance to experience Nature as nothing else has had the power to do and we will want to hold on to that."
